Jerry Chong is a prominent trial attorney in Sacramento, specializing in
criminal defense, torts and personal injury cases. He has handled the most
serious criminal cases, including homicides and death penalty cases. His civil
practice includes high profile clients, such as PG&E, BP West Coast Products and
ARCO.
He is a decorated Marine squad leader of the Vietnam War. Jerry has been an
active advocate in the Sacramento Asian community for over 20 years. A former
public defender and trailblazer, Jerry is the founding member of the Asian Bar
Association of Sacramento, National Asian Pacific American Bar Association,
Chinese American Council of Sacramento, Pacific Rim Streetfest, Asian Pacific
Rim Foundation, Sacramento Asian Sports Foundation and Council of Asian Pacific
Islanders for Advocacy and Leadership (CAPITAL). He served as Board President
of the Asian Bar Association of Sacramento, Asian Pacific Bar of California, and
the Sacramento Asian Sports Foundation. Jerry currently chairs the Sacramento
County District Attorney Multi-Cultural Council. Jerry is also the legal counsel
to eleven API service, advocacy and community organizations in Sacramento
County, providing countless hours of service and counsel to these organizations.
