Nancy
is a shareholder at McDonough Holland & Allen PC,
one of Sacramento's largest law firms. She has a transactional
practice which emphasizes business, commercial and health
care law, particularly acquisitions and sales of businesses,
business counseling and secured financing transactions.
She serves as general counsel to a number of California
corporations, both for profit and nonprofit organizations.
Her advice to nonprofits, principally trade associations
and charitable organizations, focuses on formation,
governance, tax-exemption and compliance matters, and
relationships between affiliated for profit and nonprofit
entities.
In 1989, Nancy was elected the first female
President of the Asian Bar Association of Sacramento.
She remains active in the Mentor/Mentee Program, and
when she can get Judge Cheryl Chun Meegan, Noël
Edson and Terri Newman to play with her, enjoys playing
in the annual ABAS Golf Tournament! She is a past President
of the Asian/Pacific Bar of California, the National
Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA) and
the NAPABA Law Foundation. Currently, she serves on
the board of the Asian American Justice Center (formerly
the National Asian Pacific American Legal Consortium),
Asian Legal Services Outreach, Inc., First US Community
Credit Union, the Nonprofit Resource Center, and Sierra
Health Foundation. She is also on the Advisory Committee
of My Sister's House, a safe haven for battered Asian
and Pacific Islander women and children.
Nancy holds a bachelor's degree in business
from the University of California at Berkeley, a law
degree from Hastings College of the Law and a master's
degree in business from the University of California
at Los Angeles.
